City Photo Competition - your winners

The City Photo Competition, which has kept Chelmsford’s photographers busy during this strange year, held an exhibition in the Meadows Shopping Centre over half term as part of Future City.

In lieu of an awards ceremony, a video of the winning entries and interviews with the judges has been released to announce the winners. This year’s judges included: Deputy Leader of Chelmsford City Council, Cllr Marie Goldman, The Mayor of Chelmsford, Blue Sky Printing, Unshaken Photography, The Meadows and Essex Chronicle

The annual competition is designed to capture all aspects of city life both urban and rural. New for this year was a public vote, sponsored by Blue Sky Printing and Unshaken Digital Photography Training.

The 2020 City Photo winners are (from left to right below):

  • Over 16s: ‘Central Park at Sunset’ by Robert Johnston
  • Instagram: ‘Sunshine on a cloudy day’ by @reallynosuchthingasbadweather
  • Vote: ‘Swans at Sunrise’ by Adam Bennett
  • Under 16s: ‘My little brother’ by Amelia Uddin

A selection of entries that capture the zeitgeist of 2020 will also be included in a time capsule being curated by the Mayor of Chelmsford.
