Spanning almost three months across the summer electric voice theatre, in partnership with Chelmsford City Theatres and the Essex Music Hub, brought us Echoes from Essex.
This large scale multi-disciplinary project to celebrate the county’s forgotten female pioneers saw musicians, scientists, artists and historians collaborate to bring us a unique range of online experiences.

In eight weekly episodes of music, art and conversation, historian Patricia Fara and modern scientists discussed the achievements and frustrations of Essex’s female pioneers, we also featured music, art and science created by local people over the summer.
This special choir, which included people of all ages, met every week on Zoom during the summer of 2020 to sing together, perform at live events, record and celebrate Essex’s splendid women of science! As well as hearing what the choir have produced you can watch all sessions, download a suite of associated resources and have a go yourself.
