Fashion/Remade Online – Manifesto for Change 15 July 2020

Rescheduled from earlier in the year, join us online on Focal Point Gallery’s Instagram page for three conversations and practical activities centred on sustainability and the fashion industry, led by Sara Brown and Ella Sisso of Eighty Eight Podcast, artist Philippa Stewart and zine-maker Lu Williams.

 

Tuesday 14 July, 7pm: Ethical Clothing with Ella Sisso of Eighty Eight Podcast and Philippa Stewart

Wednesday 15 July, 7pm: Manifesto for Change with Sara Brown of Eighty Eight Podcast and Lu Williams of Grrrl Zine Fair

Thursday 16 July, 7pm: Ella, Philippa, Sara and Lu in conversation for Eighty Eight podcast, with live Instagram Q&A.

  • Lu Williams is founder of the Grrrl Zine Fair, a zine fair which platforms the work of feminist creatives. Lu recently launched Grrrl Zine X Everpress, a collection of sustainable t-shirt designs for International Womxn’s Day, produced in collaboration with zine makers across the UK.
  • Pippa Stewart is a Southend-based artist and educator with a background in textiles and the fashion industry.
  • Eighty Eight Podcast is a bi-weekly podcast produced by Ella Sisso (@fatgirlfashioninspo) and Sara Brown (@sarabrowndesign), contemplating all things fashion, body image, and wellbeing.

This event has been organised for Essex Book Festival, as part of Essex 2020. Fashion/Remade a partnership event by Focal Point Gallery and Southend Museums.
