ONLINE: Coding and Tech Meetup for Girls
An online meetup for girls aged 9-19 who love being creative with coding, science, technology and engineering.
Make friends, learn new things, work on projects together, find out about tech careers, help each other, demo your apps and projects, get feedback and help.
We’ll look at creative coding, solving problems and using tech for good through coding skills, artificial intelligence, robotics, sensors, cloud computing and cyber security.
UK Time, approximate age ranges but experience and ability more important
11am-12.30pm: 11yrs-18yrs
12.30pm-1pm: lunch break
1pm-1.30pm: Show and tell of projects
1.30pm-3pm: 9yrs-13yrs
The application form asks about ability and interests and if you’d like to talk or show your project (screen sharing and/or webcam). Activities will be fleshed out based on that feedback.
Once lockdown finishes, meetings will happen around Essex and collaborations continue online.
The Essex Steamettes have been taking part in Raspberry Jams, coding and tech events at Essex Library Services (Chelmsford Library and Basildon Library), The Old Waterworks, The Hive- Southend and are looking forward to meeting online, learning, showing their projects and working together with new girls online who like creative coding.
