The Signals BFI Film Academy aims to help train and inspire the next generation of British filmmakers, supporting talented and committed young people aged 16 – 19, to develop the commercial and cultural knowledge and skills to make a career in film a reality.
A series of workshops and masterclasses will take place between October and December and include: writing for screen, acting and directing, lighting/camera, sound and post production, plus an industry visit. The full Academy course costs £25 however bursary places and help with transport/childcare costs are available so please don’t let this discourage you.
This course is perfect for anyone who is serious about a career in the film industry. Participants have a number of opportunities to further their learning through being a member of the BFI alumni, such at NFTS courses and being mentored by BAFTA nominated directors. You will also work towards a Silver Level Arts Award.
