Signals is a multi-award-winning arts and education charity that provides courses, workshops and projects across the region.
ABOUT
Signals is a centre for creative digital learning. The charity specialises in film education, digital art and uses media production for social, learning and creative outcomes.
Based in Colchester Essex, Signals developed into a regional resource and facility for filmmaking and digital arts. Our community projects enable disadvantaged groups to work on production projects, giving participants digital media skills and most importantly a voice. We work with groups through the whole production process helping participants realise their potential and share their stories.
We support creativity and learning at all levels, including working with schools, community groups, the cultural and third sector and new talent. We do this through the provision of courses, project work, production and training.
Signals
Signals have been integral to Essex 2020 from the start and co-ordinated introductory meetings for the Tendring area in January and February.
Activity for Essex 2020 has included the first ever Signals Game Academy. When Covid restrictions were implemented, Signals expertly moved their workshop provision online and held successful workshop programmes at Easter, May half-term and across the summer holidays.
Signals are currently working on major project Talk Time: Emergency Conversations Along The Coastline.
