T100 Calling: T100 Walking, Talking & Making Festival 2020.

T100 Walking Festival: T100 Calling takes as its theme mandalas in 2020. A series of walks led by experienced walkers will visit sites along the Thames Estuary, starting and ending in Purfleet–on–Thames. At key locations on the walks, beautiful large-scale mandalas will be made. Open to all.

A walk from Thurrock Nature Reserve to Bata Memorial Park

In Other People’s Shoes: Picnic lunch, shared stories and a shoe mandala make

Walk: 10:30 – 12:00
Mandala make: 12:00 – 14:00

This walk takes you from Thurrock Nature reserve, a popular bird watching site along the gravel path with wonderful views of the lake. Adjacent to this you can see the train line which runs between Stanford and East Tilbury stations. You can expect to see an array of wildlife including ducks, geese and swans.

The walk ends on the green behind Bata Memorial Park where we will share stories of the journeys we and others have travelled, making a shoe mandala surrounding the war memorial. There will be talks from Bata, local artists and the T100 exhibition to enjoy.

Please bring a picnic, a pair of shoes and a story with you to join in the fun.

Tickets are free but must be booked in advance.

A condition of booking is that all attending agree to follow our Covid-19 Guidelines
