Walk: 11:00 – 12:30
Mandala make: 12:30 – 15:30
This will be a gentle walk around Tilbury Town, celebrating the diverse community, as we collect materials from local community groups for our Make Do and Mend mandala.
This walk begins as a residential route that stretches to the edge of the town. As we cross the cattle grid to make our way along the new Fort Road we will take in views of the farmlands and the Thames that run alongside it.
Arriving at London International Cruise Terminal we will have wonderful views of the impressive cruise liners that rest there and of Gravesend just across the river.
Together we will create our Make Do and Mend mandala on the Tilbury Foreshore – reclaiming public space, making a glistening mandala from ceramics and glass, we invite you to upcycle, turning broken things into a beautiful work of art. You can also enjoy tours of the International Cruise Terminal lead by Tilbury Riverside Project and the launch of EVEWRIGHT’s installation ‘Tilbury Bridge Walkway of Memories’.
