Walk from Ockenden station to Little Belhus Country Park
Renewal: Mandala make to create a living wildlife habitat, stone painting and park tours
Walk takes 1½ hours at a leisurely pace including chatting time
Gentle walk around the north east part of South Ockendon. See a variety of buildings – from modern day to the church which was built over 800 years ago.
Pass through a variety of landscapes – from modern housing estate to farmland and hear a few snippets of history of the area.
You may be surprised when you take a closer look at a place most people drive straight though!
At Little Belhus Country Park we will be working with Rural Arisings and the Grass Roof Company on the creation of a new insect habitat; using recycled brick, concrete and cement, to make a permanent mandala on a capped landfill site that is being transformed into a country park.
Enjoy tours of the site, stone painting activities and a picnic in between making the mandala that will become the basis of a new rock garden.
Click the Renewal Mandala Gallery link to see mandalas made by the T100 community in preparation for this theme.
Tickets are free but must be booked in advance.
A condition of booking is that all attending agree to follow our Covid-19 Guidelines
Only 30 places are available for each event so social distancing can be managed.
